Green Insulated Double-Decker Tote Bag with Blanket 4 5 1 1
Looking Forward To Using This Again And Again. I saw this little picnic tote during one of my shopping trips, but decided against it. Twenty five dollars, I reasoned, was fairly expensive for what's basically a large lunch box. But after Honeybear and I got home and tossed around the idea of going on a picnic, and agreed that this tote was absolutely my style and seemed pretty durable, we decided to go back and buy it for our one year anniversary (d'awwww). Snugglepoo had expressed some doubt over the quality of the blanket, which comes neatly folded in the smaller, uninsulated top section of this tote, but once we got it home and unfolded it, we realized that it has a pretty nice, plastic-y, waterproof backing on the underside, so it's much cooler than the flimsy fleece blanket we expected. It has a cute, stripy pattern (as pictured), and is a bit on the small side, but is large enough for two people and a little spread of food. My one complaint is that the zipper to open the main compartment is situated right inside the metal bar that runs round the tote, so sometimes the zipper pulls get wedged down and I have to dig around for them. I feel like they could've added maybe an extra inch of fabric (maybe even less would've been okay) so that the zipper would be above the bar and more easily accessible, but really, this only slows me getting my food into my face by, like, seconds, so it's not a deal breaker by any means. The bottom compartment is insulated and, at first, looked pretty cramped compared to the overall size of the tote, but the insulation mashes down quite a bit, and we were able to fit two small bottles of juice, two small salad bar containers, a few bags of various snack mixes, two wraps, and a bag of cinnamon Somersaults (also from World Market--try them; they're amazing) inside. We didn't bring an ice pack or anything like that, so I can't really attest to the efficacy of the insulation, but I'm confident that it'll be fine, and, after our first, very romantical picnic, Shnoogiewoogums and I agreed that we'll be using this tote for many more. :) June 3, 2013
