Rated 5 out of 5 by SouthernGurl "Piece of Cake" to assemble; well-made; AWESOME! I told my husband that I would name this review "Piece of Cake" because that's what he said the assembly was :-) I was soooo concerned about purchasing this based on the other reviews, but I totally loved it and wanted it badly! My husband said not to hesitate to purchase it, that he was up for the assembly challenge. When it arrived, yes, it was packed in a lot of messy Styrofoam. But the wood is very heavy, and had it not been so well-packed and protected, it definitely would have been damaged in shipping. So the messy aftermath was worth it, and hubby said that assembly was not bad at all (and he's not a carpenter by trade, he is a graphic designer!) After it was built, we found it to be very well-made and solid. We totally love the look and functionality of this piece. It is a great accent piece of furniture, and the color is so awesome. Every time a person comes to my home that has not seen it before comments on it right away and they say how much they love it. I'm so very happy with this purchase. I needed a little extra storage space, and I am using it for all of my baking supplies and our grilling/smoking supplies - which we have a lot of - and it is great to have it all so organized and easy to find. It has lots of room and can be used for any number of storage solutions. If you are on the fence about purchasing this, please don't be. I really can't find one bad thing to say about it. Do yourself a favor and get this for yourself ;-) July 10, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by jalefevre good looking but cheap Well usually when I go to world market I find something cool and unusual to place in my house, but this time I almost threw the furniture after spending almost $400 on a Davia Hall cabinet. My wife really liked it so I bought it. Spending almost $400 u wouldnt think u would have to put this wood veneer together. Once I got it to the house I began to slowly put it together. I think I have purchased previous furniture from target or ikea that was easier to put together and was the same quality and a fourth of the price. I had to undo all of the mistakes they made from the hinges, to the clips where the door closes and the right door still doesn't fit. Where boards where suppose to be placed we had to use a hammer to slam it into place and my spouse had to be there to help me hold it into position. It looks very nice in the house but I suggest no one to buy this, you will end up, like myself, very frustrated bc nothing fit and paid way way too much. May 3, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bostonian1999 I wish someone reviewed it before I purchased! I used to live close to World Market and loved their stuff, so I always check their website even though I now live out of state. Judging by their good selection and my trust in their brand, I ordered this in spite of no reviews, I liked the style and color and I figured it cannot be that bad. I was totally wrong. First of all delivery that I had to pay extra for was terrible. They just threw 2 HUGE boxes in front of my building all day. No notice, no appointment, no attempt to bring it in... The cabinet itself does not feel or look like wood at all, seems like some cheap material. Then comes the assembly part. I have assembled many things, and I had someone helping with me, and we are both not new to this. The cabinet comes in 2 big boxes filled with Styrofoam. As soon as you open the box pieces of sytrofoam fly everywhere. Keep your vacuum plugged in, you will need it because the entire cabinet and your whole house will be filled with white speckles. Anyway, this whole cabinet is attached together with 16 and 6 dowels, so you figure assembly should be a breeze. I am shocked how hard it turned out to be. The drawer comes pre-assembled, so all you need to do is to assembled basically 2 sides to the back panel and the doors. Here how it goes: 1) The dowels used to attach drawer slides are broken as soon as you put them on 2) The 16 screws are attached by using hex wrench, however they are in such tight corners that even my tiny hands could not fit to tighten them. My power screwdriver was useless as well since most of the areas was inaccessible. 3) 2 of the 16 screws had the holes all wrong so they did not even fit 4) Back panels do not slide in and it is very hard to align things 5) And finally the doors. Hinges are pre-assembled, so all you need to do is just pop the hinges in. However the doors do not hang right, they do not open and close, it is just a mess. Completely defective. If you still want to buy it make sure you hold on to your boxes and tons of Styrofoam until you assemble the whole thing and you are sure it is in good condition just in case you need to exchange it. I do not recommend this cabinet to anyone who is not a carpenter. May 27, 2014
