I bought this item as a gift for my sister but loved it so much I bought one for myself as well. After one week of use, I went back and bought four more to give out as gifts!!! The carafe is just beautiful and works very well to keep your tea or coffee warm. You can use it with loose leaf but I use it with just a regular tea bag.
