Why We Love It

One of our favorites for price, flavor and unhinged fun, Gnarly Head is a casual-drinking berry-filled wine full of the richness that comes from vines up to 80 years-old in Lodi, California. Don't let its laid-back attitude fool you - this is a wine that takes itself seriously, and it's totally gnarly when paired with slow-cooked meats, grilled lamb and ribs.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great with slow smoked BBQ This wine is great with slow smoked BBQ ribs and brisket. Have a cold beer during the all-day cooking/smoking process. For dinner, though, the berry flavors really come alive when paired with the rich smokey flavors of the meat. Add a cup to your homemade BBQ sauce. I keep several bottles in the basement for summer Q time. March 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Amazing full body taste! This is a product you should just sit back and relax with! Or, just the opposite, pour a glass as you are preparing a hardy meal of steak and a medley(red, gold, purple)potatoes w/butter & garlic sauce, sip and help yourself get that delicious meal to the table! Rated 4 out of 5 by Can't Go Wrong From the first sip you can tell that you're going to have an amazing wine experience. The berry flavors unfold on your tongue and blend to a smooth, spicy finish. Truly one of my favorite wines, I have recommended it to anyone who will listen. July 10, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent every day wine This is an easy drinking, a fruity but not overly sweet wine. Good balance at a great price. It is highly distributed and easy to find. This one of my go to wines when traveling and looking for wine in an unfamiliar city. Goes great alone, or with steak, ribs, lamb. I usually have a bottle of this in my inventory. August 4, 2010
