Garner Sideboard 3.7 5 14 14
Beautiful, rustic, well-made Love it! Looks great with my Arcadia dining set from World Market - looks almost as if part of the set. The doors were a bit confusing to put on but that was the only problem. Does take a bit to put together but not bad, and well worth it! Has lots of space for storage. January 2, 2014
Really nice piece of furniture We purchased the Garner extension table and eight Garner chairs and the Garner sideboard really ties the whole set together. It's a sturdy piece of furniture and has some pretty good storage space without being too bulky. As another reviewer stated, the piece isn't too wide, so it doesn't take up too much space. Fortunately, my boyfriend put it together mostly on his own. I had to help a couple times, but it didn't seem to be too terrible to put together. For the price, I highly recommend the entire Garner dining set. It looks super impressive and much more expensive than the actual cost. It has that really nice modern, rustic farmhouse feel to it without being too "country" looking. November 11, 2013
Beautiful piece of furniture, lots of storage, narrow footprint. This sideboard is our favorite piece in our living room, besides the leather sofa. It matches the old world style fixtures in our home and is very attractive. We needed storage and it has plenty. We left a shelf out of one side and have yoga mats stored it there. The drawers are spacious and very handy. The sideboard has a very easy build design and is very good quality. sturdy. all of the hardware works very well. We love this piece. I do think it's a little pricey but not compared to the solid piece antiques we were looking at before we bought this. May 28, 2013
Great looking peice and a great value I've been looking for a sideboard for my dining room for some time and I ran across this one. After reading some reviews I decided to order it. The item arrived in good condition and assembly was straight forward and went together with no issues. It is a very nice peice that is solid wood and goes with my other dark furniture nicely. I highly recommend this sideboard. April 29, 2013
LOVE it, but thought it would be more distressed The wood is way more glossy than the picture online shows. I wanted something more rustic, distressed. But after setting it up in our dining room, I was happy with it! So it turned out to be perfect! I would recommend getting something different if you don't want glossy finish. April 3, 2013
looks great This piece looks great. It's sturdy and wasn't too difficult to put together. There was a chemical smell originally but it is gone now. I would recommend leaving drawers and cabinets opened for a day or 2 to let the smell dissipate. I have a condo with a brick wall and it's rustic (but not too rustic) look works perfectly. There is also plenty of storage space in it. February 20, 2013
Great piece, assembles well Was able to follow instructions and assemble fairly easy. Very pleased with how the piece looks, small issues of the doors not sitting tightly shut due to magnetic piece not being out enough, but I think it will be easily solved with a trip to the hardware store. Really looks like a high end piece, not chintzy in any way. January 27, 2013
Beautiful, great size sideboard This is a great piece of furniture, that I would definitely recommend to anyone who is going back and forth, giving it multiple glances. I had been looking everywhere for something that met the requirements that this item does--good quality wood, rustic appearance that would blend with some of my "youthful transitional" pieces for now, hidden shelves and drawers, and under $600-$700. I have always loved World Market and their furniture, so I was really thrilled to see a piece that met all of that criteria, and was having a sale, to boot! I'm very happy with its appearance, size, and durability. We live in a very small apartment, so this serves as our bar, dining and office storage, but does all three very efficiently. The color is lovely and warm, and the subtle traces of black fit it nicely with the aforementioned transitional (read: cheap particleboard) furniture currently in the room. It's a good mix and match piece--but I do love the look of it so much that I might purchase the rest of the Garner set when I have more space. The cons: As several people have mentioned, the magnets are TERRIBLE. I think World Market needs to seriously consider investing in a stronger magnet or changing the latch altogether. One door stays shut until you bump into it, and the other door won't shut at all. I have ordered some stronger magnets and hope they will work. You will have to assemble everything. I knew that going in to it, so I was prepared, but it's a lot of pieces. That being said, one of my drawers did not have pre-drilled holes. I'm sure it was a fluke, but it was a pain, so make sure you have a drill available just in case. Finally, I should note that this bad boy is heavy. I know the weight is noted on the product specs, but just be sure you have someone who will help you carry (or in my case, a nice landlord with a dolly!) In short, buy it! You'll love it, and the pros FAR outweigh the cons. December 27, 2013
