These small plates are very versatile, as their walls are high-enough that they can be used as shallow bowls. Each glaze color is a nice, neutral earthy tone. (The plates are glazed with one color over-all, with the flower design being made by painting a resist directly onto the clay: When the piece is fired, the bare stoneware clay body shows through as flower petals.) I'm glad that I bought myself two sets, because these dishes have become the ones that I use most-often. They're great for microwave-to-table usage. And they clean up easily.

I have to be honest - I did not love this product. I don't like the raw feel of the dishes. The lack of coating on the surface of the plate makes me worry about what my foods and sauces are absorbing. The colors are subtle in the picture, but they are even more muted in real life. On the upside, the price was pretty fair.
