Rated 5 out of 5 by Oatmeal_Fanatic Steel Cut Texture in Quick Time I read the back of pack and this brand has a great history. It's 200 years old and I had never heard of it. The oatmeal comes all the way from Ireland which just gives it that different taste to the cheap stuff here. The downside to standard Steel Cut oats is that they take soooo long to cook. Flahavan's Quick to Cook Steel Cut oatmeal is cooked in 6 or 7 minutes and gives pretty much the same texture and flavour of the 30 min oatmeal. This means I can now afford the time to have steel cut oatmeal every day of the week! March 26, 2012
