The Story Behind It

Nepal Felt: A Multifaceted Fabric

Used in Nepal for thousands of years, felt has traditionally been used to make tents, rugs and apparel. Felt is crafted out of wool fibers that are matted with soap and water and then pressed, giving it its strength and soft texture. Whether it's for home décor, apparel, or accessories, felt is a workable fabric that can be brightly dyed and transformed into an array of unique patterns.

Since the beginning of the 20th century, the art of felt has evolved with the global market's changing taste, remaining in tune with trending styles. The art of felt has been passed down for generations and today it is a major industry in Nepal. Handcrafted by local artisans in Nepal, sales of our felt pieces, including our messenger bags and decorative accessories, support the artisans and their art of felting. We're certain that you'll love wearing and displaying the bold fabrics and modern cuts of our Nepalese felt pieces.

Precious but fabric very firm This was purchased for my significant other as a holiday gift. We both fell in love immediately! Adorable features and proportions are evident from the product photos. One star removed due to very firm fabric. This is a pro for longevity but a con for cuddliness - and believe me, if you are a cuddler this critter is hard to resist. January 24, 2013
