Comments about Faceted Glass Paxton Pendant:
This light looks great, but it's woefully disappointing. There are a couple of non-negotiable design defects. The first is the mounting bracket itself. It's too short. It does not fit a standard chandelier bracket, which is what it should be hung on due to its weight. I would not recommend using this fixture (if you can actually get it installed by some magic) in a typical plastic light rough-in. Okay, so I'm thinking, I can pick up another bracket at the hardware store, no big deal, although I should NOT have to do this, World Market. Second, it comes with a chain and cord, which are typically adjustable in chandeliers and pendants, because not all ceilings are the same height. Who would have thought that? We tried and tried to get the nut off without breaking this lamp. Ridiculously difficult. Finally, we were able to disconnect the top part, but the cord wouldn't budge. Thinking the bottom screwed off, we tried that. Nothing. Usually in any standard pendant or chandelier, there is a nut inside that allows you to adjust the cord should you need to strip and shorten it. STANDARD STUFF, HERE. Putting in a light fixture is not rocket science, but with this design, World Market manages to make it so. Absolutely horrible waste of 1.5 hours fooling with this light that has to go back.
