When a sale happened last weekend, we went for it, and this tv stand well exceeded our expectations. As others have said, it is heavy and feels substantial. The finish is beautiful and consistent, and the doors fit nicely into their grooves and slide easily. The color is fairly close to what I see on my screen - maybe slightly lighter/cherry-er in person. It is not the dark black/brown that is normally called "espresso." I think that this stand is a good transitional color - most of our furniture is more of a medium brown, and it looks nice with that. I think it would also look nice with darker pieces as well. Everything arrived intact and undamaged. One thing to note is that the box is quite heavy. Make sure to have someone available to help if you have outside stairs (the UPS driver won't be able to carry it up for you, since it takes two people to lift). October 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by LMHart Happy with it overall This arrived today. As I started putting it together I noticed that the bottom piece had a couple of small but substantial dings in it, but decided to continue on. I have a set of 6 wood finish "pens" and was able to make the dings acceptable rather than dealing with the hassle of having to return it and reorder. As a recently single woman, I have NO handyperson skills, and was able to put this together on my own with no problems whatsoever. The finish is a medium-dark, not the dark brown/black espresso most of us expect. And frankly, I wanted the medium-dark finish so I am very happy with it. Once put together you'd never know it was a self assemble piece. I expect it will look good for years to come. April 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Dee Dee Beautiful media stand. Love it!! Had to leave the back panel bottom screws off to allow the component wires to connect to the power. The shelves needed to be deeper to allow wires to exit the openings in the back panel. March 15, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by tiffanyJAM Nice but ... This looks great in my living room, but I wish I would have taken a little extra time to do a better job measuring my media to be sure it would fit. My high end stereo is too deep to fit in the media stand, so I'm facec with selling it and spending a few hundred dollars to replace it with a newer, smaller model that will fit in the media stand. I failed to measure the additional space allotted for cords sticking out the back of the stereo. This was definately my mistake and not a failure of the furniture, but be sure to measure your components accurately, because everything else, including a game system is a really tight squeeze! Rated 3 out of 5 by Brian Not extremely well engineered The one I purchased included the center support panel which was not cut properly at the factory. Once assembled, the glass doors could not operate. So, I had to modify the panel myself with a saw. Afterwards, it worked perfectly. Disappointed that I had to do that. Most people would have just returned it, but I bought it for a vacation home far away, and didn't feel like dealing with that hassle. January 11, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by codyrsb Cheap construction particle board - BROKEN on arrival. This media stand is of a much lower quality than normal World Market standards - DO NOT BUY unless you want a cheap quality stand. I have purchased MANY beautiful pieces from World Market - this is certainly NOT one of them. May 28, 2013
