Great even for small apartments I was a little weary of buying this given some of the reviews, but I have to say, I've encountered none of the problems people have stated. Assembly was super easy. I did it all by myself and it took about 45 min. That was with the struggle to attach the sideboards. But that struggle is only because 4 hands would've made it easier. I utilize a boxspring and found that the curved slats present no problem in terms of stability. In fact, it's made my bed SO much more comfortable, it's hard to wake up :) My only wish is that there was more floor clearance. I store things under my bed. But I was able to buy some bed risers, so problem solved. Overall, very happy April 30, 2013
Great color and quality Everything shipped as expected. Easy to put together and fabric color is fantastic. February 1, 2013
Great Purchase! I have been searching for a bed for about seven months. I am a heavy-set person and wanted to make sure the bed I purchased could easily hold my weight without any issues. The bed arrived in two boxes from a freight company with really friendly movers. The bed was very easy to put together--I did it alone in about an hour. After having the bed for about two weeks I decided to add extra supports under the mattress. There is a bar in the middle of the bed (length-wise) and there's one "foot" in the middle of the bar. I went to Lowe's and bought two 2x2's and had them cut them down to the size of the foot that came with the bed. I then used gorilla glue and put four additional feet (for a total of five). I feel much more reassured that the bed is supported now. The bed looks really nice. I haven't had to clean it for any reason, but I do have pets and it's easy to get the hair off with a lint roller. The only issue I've had is that it squeaks a little bit when I roll over (or the dog gets on the bed, etc). A friend said she thought it was actually my older mattress and not the bed. I plan to get a new mattress in the next few months so we'll see if that was the issue. Overall, this bed was a great purchase. It was inexpensive and looks really nice! January 25, 2013
New design has no screw issues and we found a slats fix for box spring use I agree with all the other reviewers out there this is a beautiful bed for a great price. We looked at close to a hundred beds and this was by far the best value we found. This bed is delivered in two boxes and it took me longer to get it it out of the box than to set up. Very user friendly. World Market has fixed the "short" screw issues and we found the frame is not loud or squeaky like some of the past reviews warned. If you will be using a box springs with this frame here is a suggestion. We initially set-up the frame per the instructions with the slats facing up (bowed up toward the box spring). This was not going to work with a box springs. The bow in the slats caused the box springs to teeter and bounce. This in turned made the mattress feel bouncy and unstable. With the frame and bed put together this way I can see why reviewers might find the bed loud. At first, I was highly disappointed and even considered returning the bed. In the end, I ultimately decided to take the slats out and put my own flat wood slats in. Small project but still a trip to the hardware store, power tools, and clean-up (yuck). Before I headed out the door though, I had an idea. My ideas are usually hit or miss but this one actually worked. I turned the slats upside down (bow toward the floor). Put the box springs and mattress back on. Voila! Perfect. No teetering, no bouncy, just a sturdy solid bed. What I had expected to begin with. Awesome! One last thought, I made sure to adjust the center legs all the way down to the floor. Without this adjustment the center rail moved and the legs bounced on the floor when you put weight on the bed. Rookie move I know but its worth mentioning. All in all, this is a great purchase. The photo says it all and I am happy we found a fix to the box springs issue. I would be curious to see what WM's fix would be. We did not want to take the box springs out because we needed the height. Bonus *** We originally purchased this bed with only a small discount. The bed went on sale before it was delivered. I called customer service and they gave us the sale price and credited our account. Score! The great customer service we received is most certainly the reason I took the time to write this review. January 5, 2013
Shocked! So after months (literally) of searching for a bed, I found this. I could not pass on it especially after the price of it. It was significantly lower than others I have seen. I read the reviews and decided to finally make my purchase. I'm so glad I did! Wish I had earlier. I'm so happy with the quality. I was reluctant at first, but I'm very pleased with this bed. This is my first purchase with WM and will not be my last. The bed took me exactly 45-50 minutes to put together to include hauling it upstairs with my 13 year old's assistance. The ease of putting it together was great! It's extremely sturdy as well. The hardest part of my purchase was hauling it home. I highly recommend this bed. The ease of putting it together is incredible! Thank you World Market, you have a new loyal customer! December 28, 2012
Great Look At An Affordable Price I have done a lot of research for an affordable upholstered bed and this was the first one that I was happy with (in look and price). It seemed like everywhere I looked, the prices were extremely high or it wouldn't include the whole bed frame (just the headboard). I believe I got a great deal on this bed because I had a coupon and they were having a promotion on all furniture at the time. I also had the bed delivered to my nearest World Market to save on shipping and handling costs. However, it looks like this item is only available in store now. I'm not sure if that will change in the future or if they are discontinuing this product. I actually purchased this bed without seeing it in person, but thought that it had the modern "hotel look" that I was going for. I only saw the same bed in store, but in the oatmeal color. In comparison, the texture of the oatmeal fabric was a rough burlap feeling while the dove grey has a smoother fabric finish to it. I thought I was going to need a lot of help putting together this bed, but it was pretty simple. The product comes in two boxes. The bed can fit in a SUV or larger vehicle if you take the headboard and footboard out of the box. They are packaged on top of each other, making the box it came packaged in very wide. I didn't know this, but the World Market employee who helped me load it into my car knew what to do. Otherwise, I would have been pretty concerned of how to get this bed home. The bed comes with everything you need to build it with and has easy photo instructions. I had the help of one other person, but their efforts were very minimal. From other reviewers, there was mention that the screws that came with the bed were not long enough, so I was extremely cautious to tighten all the screws as tight as a I could before placing my mattress in. It seems to be sturdy, so far. However, I'm not consciously jumping on it either. This is the first low profile bed I've ever had. I'm usually used to having a high mattress set, but this was a nice change. I ended up getting a high queen mattress with a bunkie board. I opted to not get a low profile box spring, because I wasn't sure if it would have peeped up over the bed frame. Make sure you measure that before getting the low profile box spring. I'm sure you could go with either, but I think the bunkie board provides great support under the mattress and over the wood slats. I think it works really well and had provided enough height to make it easir for me to put sheets on. Another reviewer mentioned that after she leaned against her headboard with wet hair, it had become discolored from the moisture. I would be cautious of that. I do not intend to test if that's true, but I would imagine that you'd have to be a little more careful with fabric covered furniture. The only cons that I noticed was that the upholstered fabric was not on the back of the bed or at the bottom of the headboard, but no one should be seeing that anyway. Also, some of the wooden feet of my bed came in a little scuffed up. I ended up using those two towards the back of my bed. It's barely noticeable unless someone gets down on their hands and knees to inspect it. And from a personal standpoint, I wish that it came with higher legs or a taller headboard, but I knew coming in that this was a low profile bed. Overall, I've had this bed for a week and I'm very pleased with the way it looks and feels in my room. I'm looking forward the enjoying this bed for years to come. March 25, 2012
Dove Grey Draper Upholstered Headboard This product is great! It was easy to assemble (did it myself)! My only question is where do I find the bedding used in the photograph? March 14, 2012
Great Buy, but sad to see it went on sale just after I bought it! Easy to assemble, beautiful as pictured, color is a perfect match, exactly what I was hoping for! The only disappointing fact is that it went on sale right after I bought it, and it wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that after shipping and surcharges I ended up paying close to $600 for it...
