I had been eying these for a few years and finally decided it's time to refresh our dishware. These dishes capture both a breezy cool that the blues and whites offer, accompanied by a soothing and grounding Asian motif. I began with a set of six dinner plates, paired with six matching salad plates. Soon thereafter I ordered another set of each online. They are heavier than expected, very sturdy stoneware. I appreciate that I can feel the texture of the cherry blossoms in the glaze. The blue glaze fires slightly different from one plate to the next, which proffers a desirable hand-made quality. I had thought they were hand-made, but upon close (very close) inspection, it looks as though the cherry design is possibly screen printed, as each plate exhibits perfect uniformity in design. Again, the glaze, however, differs from plate to plate, which I find lovely.
I've owned these for months, now, and still smile every time I use them. Opening the cabinet to en eyeful of rich blue is pleasing, and serving on them is always a pleasure. I use these daily and have subjected them routinely to the dishwasher, microwave, and two seven-year-olds. They are in perfect condition.
On a side note, when I ordered the second set online, a few of the dishes arrived broken. A call to customer service resulted in a warm and friendly conversation. World Market went well above what I would have considered fair to replace them. They have retained my loyalty, which spans over three years, now.

I purchased these over the internet, when they arrived I had several that were damaged. I made a call to customer service and they were very quick to ship the replacements out. That means a lot to me, good customer service.

I love this set. It is beautiful and can be used for casual dining or dinner parties. The asian style makes the dinnerware elegant and sophisticated. The only downside is that they are a tad expensive. I would have liked to spend a little less.

From the moment I first saw this set, I fell in love with it. The design was great, and I loved the way the set felt in my hands.
The bowls are particularly wonderful because after using them in the microwave, the little rim on the bottom makes it easy to handle your food without getting burned. After continuous use since the day I bought them, none of the pieces in the set have a single ding or chip.
Overall, I am very happy, but I do wish that the brilliant blue that drew me to this set initially hadn't begun to fade. Perhaps I just use them too often, (this is my every day dish set) and I have had them for about a year and a half, so maybe this is just normal wear and tear. I just wasn't aware that dishes fade.
