This was a gift for my husband. I have a similar board that I had picked up at an estate sale but my husband wanted one of his own that he could write down things we needed on the next shopping trip,etc. I looked at a lot of boards on retail sites but this was the best one for size, design, price and value. He loves it and it's already become a feature in our kitchen.

This is the perfect size chalkboard for a kitchen...not to big or small around 10x18 not including the scroll design. Will enjoy it for many years to come!

great looking, and works OK for now, but it's just painted board, and I don't trust the durability of the paint or what's underneath. Still, pretty cheap for an attractive chalkboard, and beats whiteboards by a mile

I recently moved to a new house, and wanted a cute small chalkboard to hang in my new kitchen. I was thrilled when I found this one, at such a great price.
Unfortunately, any chalk marks made on it appear to scratch the surface,and are nearly impossible to completely remove. My son drew a picture on the chalkboard with Crayola colored chalk, and even after wiping the chalkboard down several times with a wet rag, there's still a faint shadow from the chalk. Possibly it's because of the chalk being colored, but I think it's much more likely that the chalk finish is just poor.
I might get some chalkboard paint, and paint it, and see if that helps. It's too bad chalk doesn't erase well from this board, because other wise it is very cute.
