Why We Love It

This medium-bodied Castle Rock Zinfindel has outstanding complexity and character with flavors of blackberry, raspberry and plums mixed with notes of pepper, spice and earth. Pairs well with foods such as grilled chicken, steak or lamb and most pasta dishes.

Castle Rock Zinfandel - My store has the 2011 Lodi Zin

Comments about Castle Rock Zinfandel:

This is one of the tastiest and best deals around. The vintage of Castle Rock Zinfandel that my local Cost Plus carries is a 2011 Lodi Zinfandel. It was $7.99/bottle when I bought it, and it's jammy, fruit forward, nicely full-bodied and balanced, without the mineral and pepper notes you sometimes get. It tastes like one of the lower end Dry Creek Valley Zins from Mazzocco, and those are significantly pricier. I'm heading back this week to buy a couple of cases. The people I have enjoyed this wine with are also blown away by how tasty it is for the price point. That said, none of us cared for Castle Rock's Pinot Noir - this review is for the Zinfandel only.
