These are the BEST doughnuts! I just mix up a batch and use a spoon and cook them in oil- you don't have to make them fancy to taste good! Then I get a paper bag or large ziploc and fill it with powdered sugar. Toss the doughnuts in the powdered sugar and you have one awesome breakfast!
I don't usually go for mixes of anything, but these were incredibly good quality beignet from a box. The fact that the mix needed to be refrigerated surprised me, though. Still, these are fast and easy to make. I was out of powdered sugar (sacrilege, I know) so I rolled them in cane sugar and cinnamon. :)
Having had the original Beignets from Cafe Du Monde, I was looking forward to make this. I followed the instructions and they came out dense. I will have to piddle with the amount of water (7 oz) suggested to add and increase it a bit.
Easier than making them from scratch. Great for a Sunday breakfast.
Great price on a great product. I love this stuff!!!
This product is normally very good and certainly reminiscent of New Orleans' French Quarter and Fat City. But the mix expires much too soon - like they sent me the oldest ones they had!
