These are the BEST doughnuts! I just mix up a batch and use a spoon and cook them in oil- you don't have to make them fancy to taste good! Then I get a paper bag or large ziploc and fill it with powdered sugar. Toss the doughnuts in the powdered sugar and you have one awesome breakfast!

Easier than making them from scratch. Great for a Sunday breakfast.

My first trip to Cafe Du Monde was AMAZING! I can still hear the saxaphone, the chit-chatter and all the activity surrounding the atmosphere of New Orleans. Finding this at my local World Market made me the most happy woman alive! I grabbed the box as it were gold and made them for my family the next day for breakfast! (I also purchased CAFE DU MONDE Coffee and Chicory to get the full experience! Serve the Beignet's with powdered sugar piled high over the top! LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (dont forget to refrigerate the box after opening so you can enjoy more later!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by beignetlover Refrigerate the leftover mix!
This is such a GREAT product. Truly authentic to the real thing.
Just remember to refrigerate the leftover mix. It is very subtly printed on the box & the milk in it WILL go bad. A sad discovery one morning after opening a very rancid box!

If you close your eyes while indulging, you will quietly escape to New Orleans. The next best thing to being there!!

One of my favorite things in the world is to sip cafe au lait and eat beignets watching the Mississippi River roll past in New Orleans. This mix perfectly recreates the beignets you get at the Cafe du Monde restaurants in the French Quarter. The whole family loves them and they are very easy to prepare. They'd be much easier to fry if we owned a deep fryer, but we fry them in a wok and it's a little messy. Also the grease smell lingers, but if you don't live in New Orleans (and I don't) these are well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Roaming Gnome Exactly like the real deal
If you have trouble getting the inside cooked, flatten the squares a bit. It seemed to need to be a bit thinner than the 1/8 in listed on the box. Once you get the shape and cooking time right, it tastes JUST like the beignets at Cafe du Monde. My mom and I made made our first batch about a month after I had gotten back from New Orleans so the taste was fresh in my mind. Don't forget the powdered sugar and a change of clothes or a really big bib!
