Brooklyn Dining Table 4.8 5 4 4
Love this table! We use this in our contemporary breakfast room. Looks sleek but with lots of character. So far so good! June 10, 2012
LOVE THIS TABLE This table is stunning. Funny thing is another high end store has a similar table but was much more expensive. The quality and price was just unbeatable! I agree with the other reviewer...we weren't crazy about the chairs that were sold with this table. We also purchased the bench but added two wicker arm chairs for the end and then purchased two parsons chairs. WE LOVE IT! As far as the table top goes..so far so good. I am curious to see how it wears with my two kids, both under the age of 8, but....as the previous reviewer wrote...we purchased the table at such a good price turning the top into a chalk board is a great idea! This table is also VERY HEAVY but one of the easiest pieces we have put together. We have received a ton of compliments on the table. We are very happy with our choice! April 22, 2012
Really makes a statement! We LOVE the look of this table, it was extremely easy to assemble, but you will definitely need plenty of help to get this home and inside (it is HEAVY!!!). We mixed and matched the seating - the Brooklyn style chairs didn't look too appealing to me (the wash looked funny on many that were assembled in the store). We opted instead for one Brooklyn bench, two Provence chairs, and three of the wicker Kooboo chairs. Plenty of seating now! Because of the rustic wash the mix & match looks fantastic!!! We even got a Campaign bookshelf for our extra dishes, sort of like an open hutch. The dining room looks great and I can't believe the deal we got on everything. Just the [@] table we were considering buying before finding this Brooklyn collection was more expensive than the entire set we got! I'm interested in seeing how the tabletop will wear, but if the finish does come off I think I'm going to paint the top with grey chalkboard paint for my son or dinner guest to color on! Very very happy to have this table in my home!!! April 3, 2012
Beautiful table with sensitive surface We've had this table for over a month now, and it's one of my favorite pieces of furniture. A few observations: It is very sturdy. I hosted Thanksgiving this year, and a few times my guests bumped the table. The table didn't wobble a bit. The bench goes very nicely with it, and has a smooth finish to the top (no slivers, no trouble cleaning it). I would consider my style "contemporary farmhouse" and the table is a perfect match. The instructions for the table say to use a placemat when writing or eating on the table. Because of the beautiful gray cover, I didn't want to cover it up with placemats or a table cloth, but it is true that it scratches easily. We have three kids--one a toddler--and in one week they managed to put a few scratches on the top, two of which left a small discoloration (I know the company says the table is dyed all the way through, but I think a few places on the table must not be). Even I put a small scratch on the table when I left a stack of stapled papers on it--yep, the staples left a tiny scratch. Because I love the style of the table, rather than give up on it, we bought a huge piece of glass to sit on top of the table (recommended to us by a salesperson at World Market). Even spending a couple hundred dollars on glass still made this table less expensive than one at a competing retailer. Obviously, this changes the look somewhat because it makes the top glossy rather than matte, but I'm very happy I did this. Plus, having a glass top allows for me to put papers under the glass and let my kids draw on it with dry erase markers. Easy clean up. So, overall, the top is not super-durable, but it's still a gorgeous table and now that we have it protected, I expect it will last a long time. November 25, 2012
