Comments about Bret's Comte Cheese Potato Chips:
I am so glad these are back in stock! It will get me back into the store to grab some for sure. I just discovered Bret's potato chips last fall and tried both this type and the Chèvre/Pepper type (flavored with goat cheese with an edge of hot peppers.) I love them both and I think there is at least one more variety I missed out on that was even more popular-- sold out before I discovered the others. This Compte flavor is luscious, a true aromatic cheese flavor, more to it than a cheddar for sure. It is of the Gruyere family. In looking up Compte cheese on Wikipedia in search of a good description of the taste, Wiki says it is strong and slightly sweet and I agree. Worth the price and calories. And they don't always have them, so grab them while you can. Too bad they are only available in the store and not online but I can see why-- it would be hard to protect them from breakage without making the shipping package huge. Worth a trip to your nearest World Market store to try.
