Black Ripple Cast Iron Teapot 3.8 5 23 23
A great teapot at a great price! I couldn't decide between this teapot and a pretty blue one when I got the store, so I got both. It is so reasonably priced, has enamel lining to prevent rust on the inside, and it is plenty big enough for two large cups of tea. I've been using it daily for the past month and even without the teapot warmer, it keeps my tea warm for at least an hour. It is easy to clean and has a nice, large infuser basket. It is just what I was looking for ! March 15, 2015
Exactly what I was looking for Excellent size for two cups of tea, and fits perfectly under my Keurig for hot water dispensing. I've used it on the gas stove as well to heat the water to simmer for steeping. Seems well made and solid, lid fits nice and the basket appears durable as well. Heavy cast iron retains heat and is ceramic coated inside. January 9, 2015
Great teapot I love this teapot and also bought the iron pot warmer with a candle from World Market for it to sit on. This teapot is larger than most and very easy to clean. I never put it directly on my stove, but instead pour boiling water into it. This is a great find. I even purchased one for my son and daughter-in-law. December 23, 2014
Great Product - Very Pleased This kettle is adorable, and very functional. The size is actually perfect for me - it's bigger than it looks - I can fill my large cup (~16oz) twice from it. I received mine as a gift about 9 months ago - I wasn't sure at first if it was seasoned or enameled, but after a close look, I was pretty sure it was enameled and have treated it as such. I use it pretty much every day, and have never had any peeling/rust problems. I do heat the water in it right on the stovetop (electric burners), and I leave the tea in it until I finish drinking it - sometimes, that's not even until the next day. Even when I wash it, I don't dry it - I just leave the lid off and let it air dry, and it is often in continuous use for days before it gets washed/dry. I'm not sure I would have made this purchase for myself if I had read the reviews first - I am so glad my sister bought one for me or I may never have gotten one. I really don't know what the cause of some people's problems with this item have been - maybe there was a bad batch that wasn't properly enameled, or maybe someone stuck theirs in the dishwasher? I simply haven't experienced any of these problems. The way I use mine: I put in the tea leaves and water, turn the burner on high, and watch the pot until it comes to the very beginning of a simmer. Then, I turn off the burner (again, electric), put the lid on the pot, and let it steep right on the burner. You will quickly get the timing right to avoid boil-overs. February 11, 2014
hot gift I gave this to my step-mother in law (my husband's step mother) as a Christmas present. She absolutely loves it for she has a gallery. She can brew enough tea for two whenever people come over to visit her, plus it keeps the tea warm if she is just having tea by herself. I would get another one for another friend or family when the occasion occurs. It makes great practical and beautiful presents as well as for personal use. I have quite a number of cast iron tea pots and use them often. January 7, 2014
PERFECT! Just what I was looking for! This was a last minute gift for someone who wasn't on my Christmas list. I was resigned to the fact that I would give it to the recipient after the holiday, but as it turned out, it arrived days before Christmas to my pleasant surprise. It was everything I had hoped for plus more.....it for sure exceeded my expectations. January 29, 2013
My favorite teapot I bought this little teapot as a birthday gift to myself back in February (2012), and have been using it almost daily. It is the perfect size for tea for 1 or two people, retains heat well, and the strainer is very handy. I love the design of the teapot, it is very well-made, and brews tea perfectly because it heats evenly. As for the commenter who said it was painted inside and unsafe to use -- that is untrue. The inside has a mat enamel, it is not paint. Paint would not hold up to repeated heating and boiling water. I guess because the interior isn't shiny, the reviewer assumed it was paint (even though the item description clearly says it is a mat enamel inside). As for everyone asking about rusting, the way to prevent rusting is to clean the pot as soon as you're finished using it using just water and a soft cloth, then dry the pot by putting it back on the stove over medium heat until all the water evaporates. Do not leave it on longer than what it takes to dry, since that can cause the enamel to crack and chip over time. That's what I do with all my cast iron cookware, and I have no rust issues at all. Hope that helps! June 1, 2012
"I have purchased 3" The 1 liter size is great, I can brew a pot of tea for one or more. Because the pot is cast iron the contents stay hot longer. A very attractive pot to use any time any where. I purchased one for me and two for tea drinking friends. What a great gift,to give or receive. April 9, 2012
