My favorite teapot I bought this little teapot as a birthday gift to myself back in February (2012), and have been using it almost daily. It is the perfect size for tea for 1 or two people, retains heat well, and the strainer is very handy. I love the design of the teapot, it is very well-made, and brews tea perfectly because it heats evenly. As for the commenter who said it was painted inside and unsafe to use -- that is untrue. The inside has a mat enamel, it is not paint. Paint would not hold up to repeated heating and boiling water. I guess because the interior isn't shiny, the reviewer assumed it was paint (even though the item description clearly says it is a mat enamel inside). As for everyone asking about rusting, the way to prevent rusting is to clean the pot as soon as you're finished using it using just water and a soft cloth, then dry the pot by putting it back on the stove over medium heat until all the water evaporates. Do not leave it on longer than what it takes to dry, since that can cause the enamel to crack and chip over time. That's what I do with all my cast iron cookware, and I have no rust issues at all. Hope that helps! June 1, 2012
"I have purchased 3" The 1 liter size is great, I can brew a pot of tea for one or more. Because the pot is cast iron the contents stay hot longer. A very attractive pot to use any time any where. I purchased one for me and two for tea drinking friends. What a great gift,to give or receive. April 9, 2012
I love it I love it. I bought this with the warmer and the set is amazing. Nicer than I thought it would be. Also good for many cups of tea. Perfect for the cold north east winters. September 27, 2011
Cast Iron is wonderful! I bought this pot yesterday. It was very reasonable, and after using it today on a chai-flavored oolong, I'm very satisfied. One of the problems with ceramic tea pots is that after you brew the tea, it won't stay very warm. However cast iron holds heat well and man, its so nice to have each cup of tea be just as warm and delicious as the first. Be sure just wash it with water when you use it and to let it air dry. As good as my $50 GenuinTetsubin Teapot This is a super value in a Japanese style cast iron tea pot. I paid $50 for a pot that is very similar (they can sell for as much as several hundreds of dollars). The only difference is the enamel inside of the $50 one. One reviewer believes the "painted inside might be unsafe to steep tea. I called World Market and because they have a warehouse in California; the State of California inspects all of World Market's products. Any product that does not meet California guidelines must state such in the product description. This tea pot is safe to use for steeping/drinking tea. GETS EXTREMELY HOT AND WILL BURN THROUGH THREE POT HOLDERS. USE A WELL MADE TRIVET OR BUY THE WARMER TO AVOID THIS. July 12, 2011
Love this tea pot!!! I got this teapot for my dad for Christmas. I like that the tea pot is made of good heavy cast iron which retains heat well keeping the tea super hot for a really long time. Also, it's a good size for lots of cups of tea. I wish you guys made a matching teacup to go with teapot in cast iron as well. March 17, 2011
Love this teapot! I love this teapot! I wrap a cloth around it to keep the tea warm, and the tea pot will stay hot to the touch for a good two hours. I've been looking for an affordable and cute teapot for a while--even went to Tokyo and Shanghai and didn't find a cast iron teapot to my liking that wasn't overly expensive. Who would have thought the WM would have just was I needed. Thank you World Market. November 24, 2010
Love my teapot! I love my little teapot and I esp. loved the price! I priced many at Teavana and couldn't bring myself to pay $$$ for a little teapot....ran into WM one day and saw this little gem and love it. I have one question...what am I doing wrong that is making it start to rust in the inside bottom? I dry between each use...should I have seasoned it? October 15, 2011
