I ordered the set online, for a gift.
I am a dragon and a tea enthusiast, so how could I resist? I also helps that I purchased this set while it was on sale. It is perfect for one person, or two to share. The pot is not large, but makes enough for the two little cups that come with... The strainer is a tight weave, so it will allow you to use very fine loose tea if you wish. Because it is an iron tea pot, make sure you rinse and DRY it carefully after each use. It will rust... I learned this the hard way. :)
While dining at PF Chang's restaurant in Los Angeles for the first time I was served a delicious tea in a cast iron tea pot like this and just HAD to have one of my own because I fell in love with how hot the tea stayed pour after pour! I found it at worldmarket.com while shopping for a Christmas gift for my stepbrother. YAY! win win! So I got a gift and he got the throw he wanted. LOVE THIS TEA POT! Comes with strainer, two cast iron cups and wooden coaster. Such a great price for the quality and craftsmanship! I recommend this for every household and makes a great gift too!
I was looking for a cast iron teapot to give to my fiance as a gift that we could use both at home (on our gas stove) and bring to outdoor events or camping. I found this teapot and was worried that it would be of cheap, unreliable and unuseable quality, and happily, I was mistaken! While it is on the small side - only makes about 2 mugs worth of water - its quality and size help to make boiling water easy and fast. He loves it, and I'm super-duper satisfied. When it's available again, I'll probably get more to give as gifts!
This was purchased as a gift for my son-in-law so you'll have to wait to see if he loves it. I do have another cast iron tea pot an knowing what I paid for it makes this one a great value. I have also ordered loose tea for myself and the Thai iced tea I served for Thanksgiving and everyone loved the tea's and the iced tea was a big hit.
I purchased this teapot because it is a great deal and looks beautiful, etc, etc. However, when I made the jasmine tea and poured it into the cup, the cup was so hot that I couldn't even touch it, let alone drink it. The material conducts heat like crazy, making it very difficult to hold/drink hot tea from the cups.
