As others have said, this rug can be difficult to keep un-stained -- even water creates a stain. However, I've had decent results using a simple mixture of white vinegar and water sprayed on the stains. It doesn't completely remove them, but it does make them much less noticeable. (That being said, I use this rug in my bedroom, where my two rabbits live, so the stains don't bother me much anyway.)
I bought this rug for under a dining room table. While I loved the look at first, the rug is impossible to clean. You cannot use any sort of liquid or water to clean the rug as it leaves a ring and cleaner will bleach the color. Also within 8 months, the rug wore through where one of the chairs was. I would not recommend this rug for use in high traffic areas or a home with pets or children.
Overall, really like the rug. Great for high-traffic areas (like hallways and family rooms, but not entry ways if you live somewhere it rains/snows a lot). It's low pile so doesn't get torn up easily by dogs/kids or shed like other jute rugs I've owned. Easy to vacuum up loose dirt. Loved that the reverse side had a rubbery consistency, so doesn't slip around on hardwood floors.
I loved this rug, perfect color and size, and I expected it to be hard wearing and durable. The problem is that it is hard to keep clean. White wine bleached out the color so that it looks like bleached out spots, and almost any wet spill no matter how well you clean it changes the appearance of the rug and so now is spotted. A coffee spill immediately cleaned up has totally ruined the rug, so I need a new rug after a year.
