Why We Love It

Sit back and kick up your feet in our Barrington Bi-Cast Leather Recliner. Crafted with a hardwood frame, it features a rich espresso, bi-cast leather upholstery that we've given a gentle, distressed look for an aged appeal. Fine details, including brass-toned nailhead trim around the outer edges and walnut wood legs, add to this recliner's bold design. Its cushy head and backrest and ultra-padded seat make it a great place to recline in style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great chair! I totally disagree with the negative comments. I actually purchased the recliner that was available about a year and a half ago. I bought two and mine are also made of the bi-cast leather, same espresso color, just a different style. Mine have rounded sides and look like a 40's style club chair. I don't believe the advertising was deceiving. I just looked up what bi-cast leather was, and since I could never afford a all-leather chair, I was very happy to see these at an affordable price!! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great chairs Incredible chair for the money. A fifth of the cost of other chairs that have this great look and styling. I bought one 8 years ago from world market and it has held up beautifully. It hasn't aged like a true leather, but I'm actually ok with that. My true leather couch has really faded but the chair is still chocolate brown. I just bought two of these newer models and the first month in I can say they are terrific chairs. Probably the best style and value out there. January 4, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice This chair is a great value at about $500. I paid $2500 for a Barca Lounger that fell apart in 6 months. This chair is built much better with fewer moving parts to fail. The chair is very comfortable and looks great. It is a little on the small size for someone over 6 feet tall. On the plus size it has a small footprint and doesn't take up a lot of space. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for the price I got the chair for a great price and love that it fits into my small New York City studio apartment. It has the smallest footprint of any recliner on the market, as I searched and searched. I bought a new rug and a chair at the same time and guest immedately complimented me on the chair and didn't even notice that the rug was new too! The chair is nicley firm yet comfortable and as a very high quality feel about it. To get ANY type of a leather recliner for under $500 is unheard of, and the next best option was a clearance $800 chair at [@] that was much bigger and less stylish. I wouldn't use this chair in a children's playroom, but as a daily use reading or sitting chair in a living space it is ideal. January 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Loving it so far! If the other reviewer had done their research beforehand, they probably would have saved themselves the trouble of having to plagiarize wikipedia for a nasty review (I love how even the citations got copied/pasted). Bicast leather is more or less the new "faux" leather and at this price point, that's pretty much what you're going to get. Real leather is simply expensive and you won't get away with a real leather chair without shelling out much more cash (unless you get really poor quality leather, maybe, but then you're not much better off than going with bicast). I looked at different chairs (real and "faux") for about 6+ months and kept coming back to this one because it was exactly the look I was going for. I snagged it on a good deal with a coupon as a World Market Explorer (do it...they have great coupons and perks and it's free). The pricing was competitive and I picked it up from a local store that had it in stock a few miles away, which made the deal pretty sweet. In my opinion, this chair looks really cool and unique (plus the fabric cushion might last longer than a bicast cushion since it will receive the most wear and tear relative to the rest of the chair). It has a classic look to it that gives it a bit of character almost as if it was a family heirloom that had been passed down (well, except that it's obviously new). I got it so that I could have a reading chair in my living room and it is perfect...not too big, not too small. I love sitting in it after a long day at the office, and I've gotten a few compliments on it already from visitors. At my 5'10" stature, I find it pretty comfortable, although if you're really tall (or considering buying it in general) I highly recommend going to a store that has it in stock and trying it out, because it is not a big chair. Because it is bicast leather, the chair will have somewhat "chemical" smell (reminds me of the dry cleaners) at first, but it's dissipating more and more each week, and honestly, I don't mind it. It's the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars, but I suspect any other bicast leather chair will have the same smell for a bit. December 24, 2011
Rated 1 out of 5 by bicast leather doesn't hold up We purchased two chairs from World Market for our family room. They just over 3 years old and at 2 years started to have problemss. The "leather", NOT!, is bubbling and looks like it is going to peel. We were uneducated when we purchased these chairs believing they were real leather, Unbeknownst to us at time of purchase we bought them. Although they looked good for a year or so they look awful now. They were not in direct sunlight or misused. I do NOT recommend buying these or any other bicast/bonded products. These chairs we an investment that failed... January 4, 2012
