I loved this lamp when I saw it online. I also love it because it is a safe product for the home and grows quickly to replace what is taken to make products.
The lamp is beautiful and tall. I really like the subtle black stripping - which is not very noticable or takes away from the beauty of the bamboo.
We put this on a switch that allows us to turn it on and off easily.
My only issue is the shade color. I would of preferred a white or ivory shade as the one it comes with does not allow the full ambiance of the light bulb. Cost Plus lamp shades are very, very reaonably priced so I will go to their store today to pick out another shade that will better suit my needs.

I too really love the lamp base. I like the shade color, but also agree that the shade size and scale is way off… it looks dinky. I too will try to replace the shade with a bigger size. Would like to see the shade size modified for the future. Overall, I am happy with the lamp as it has a worldly, but contemporary feel to it.

The scale of the shade was too small for the base and the shade wasn't "off cream" - it was taupe. The base is well made (not cheap looking) and I love it. I switched out the shades and they (I purchased 2) really look wonderful.
