The Benefits of Bamboo

Found throughout Asia, Bamboo is not a tree but actually a type of grass-one of largest in its family. Prized as being one of the fastest growing plants in the world, bamboo plants can grow up to 47 inches in a single day, and up to 80 feet at peak height. Bamboo quickly re-grows after being harvested without replanting, making it a wonderful source of renewable wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yay for Bamboo! This is a gorgeous cutting board. Nice and thick, unlike the slimmer flimsy ones a lot of stores sell. Easy to maintain and I love that it's bamboo. You can't go wrong with eco friendly materials. Everything cuts so much better on this then with my old plastic one. My only complaint is that after the first washing there was a little bit of bamboo that peeled off the edges. I did not soak it or clean it with anything harsh so I'm not sure why it did this. Maybe it's common with bamboo items. BUT it's barely noticeable and hasn't effected it's use or the overall quality and appearance of the item. So I saw no point in deducting any stars. I would purchase it again. March 30, 2015
