I just purchased this at my local store tonight after viewing it and reading the reviews online. I brought it home and put it together by myself in about 20 minutes. A hex key is provided with the hardware and no additional tools were needed. I recently purchased a sectional sofa and ottomans for our tv room. The tall sides of the sofa meant that our side tables no longer worked and the ottomans made a coffee table impractical. Enter the Alemeda Laptop Table. It slides under the sofa so it does not interfere with the ottomans and now my husband has a place for his remotes and his drink. The top is a high quality wood with a nice stain. Though, it has a 'hand rubbed' finish so I think coasters will be required. If I decide that bothers me I will just give it a few coats of polyurethane. I'm kind of a cheap skate when it comes to furniture, but I still think this was worth the price I paid.
We got this table for someone who is essentially wheelchair-bound, and who eats dinner in a recliner in front of a television. The table is sturdy enough to use as a dining tray and it pulls forward over her lap to function better than a regular TV tray. I didn't expect the table to be as pretty as it turned out to be! In addition, I think it will work well for a computer table to use while online in a room away from the home office. I'd definitely purchase another one of these tables!
This product was a great purchase. It is very stylish and looks great. The only negative is if you use a mouse with you laptop there isn't enough room on the top.
We had been looking for "C" tables to go with our new leather sectional so we had a place to put our tea or snacks while chatting or tv watching. We looked at Home Goods, Pier One, online etc...the tables were usually around $100. but not really nice enough. We almost settled and I came across these, they are beautiful wood, well put together and actually match our expensive, cherry entertainment center!! We are more than pleased with these table, we bought 3 of them! I would highly recommend them to anyone as a tray table, end table or even a lap top!
I own 3 of these tables, I've also had them for 3 years so I feel I can write an informed review. I use 2 as bedside tables in a guest bedroom and one is used to keep a wireless keyboard and mouse on when I need to use a desktop computer at home.
My husband had been checking out similar tables but they were rickety and/or cheap & tacky looking. After reading the reviews I was confident this table is what he was looking for and surprised him with it. He loves it! He's happy it's stable, sturdy but easy to move & a good size. I'm happy that it's actual wood and blends in discreetly in the room it's used in.
These tables were very expensive ($60ea) in my opinion, for what they are. They are usually $80, which is exorbitant - I would NOT have bought them at that price! Anyway, they are sturdy and the design is just right for using your laptop or using them as dinner tables. They also fit nicely against our coffee table when not in use. They are expensive, but they will last forever (I hope!).
Great value. This table fits perfectly my living room. Quality of top and stand are very good. I'm very satisfied of my purchase
Easy to assemble. The wood top is really pretty. Keep it near by my love seat to hold drinks, knitting tools and iPad.
Versatile, attractive, light weight. I knew it was great when my 7 year old granddaughter brought it down from her upstairs bedroom, put it by her favorite chair, hopped on the chair, and pulled the table up close so she could have her snack while watching her show. That was followed up by her father using it for his computer work. Long story short? Purchased 4 from the store and three on line for a total 7 ! Just a great little table!
