Great Shade, but You Have to Get the Lamp Part Still! This is a beautiful shade. NOTE, it is not the lamp. You don't receive the canopy or the light socket (which is why I only give this 4 stars). You just get a shade. Finding a light socket/ceiling canopy kit that goes with this light was very challenging, but I finally found someone who custom makes them on a website where people buy and sell all things handmade. I haven't received it yet - should arrive by tomorrow. Fingers crossed! March 25, 2015
Beautiful, high end looking hanging prism lamp needs better instructions. I fell in love from the first moment with this beautiful lamp. I was surprised by how large and heavy it was but had read some others reviews, so was prepared. Working with the hard wire in homes already raises challenges, but this got real weird. So to help future purchasers, read this. yes you have to get a "pendant or hanging lamp hard wire kit" which can hold the weight of the lamp, but the kit also needs to have its socket part be able to fit thru the hole of the lamp. It will need to have a strong ring that once you fit the socket through the lamp hole, tightens the lamp to the fixture. Once that is tightened and secure, you can screw a bulb in. We were not secure with leaving the lamp at this point even though it seemed fine, so since we have an iron ceiling base, we drilled holes and ran some wires to the lower lamp parts to balance and secure the lamp. Its now perfect. It's a chore, but once it's up, it's spectacular. It reflects light, only needs a dim or medium light bulb and turned my common entrance hall to a show place. December 21, 2014
kit Ok, so I bought the light, but where the do I find the "heavy duty" electrical cord kit? Seems silly it just didn't come with the fixture. June 27, 2014
Thanks for the hassle. This product is not a functioning light. This product is only a circular frame of dangling pieces of glass. The first sentence of the installation instruction is "Find a...hardwire electrical ceiling kit." Please recommend a "hardwire electrical ceiling kit" or include such a kit (I'm willing to pay extra for it). I cannot locate such a kit, so I cannot use this fixture. If World Market is going to send their customers on a search (i.e., "Find a similar hardwire electrical ceiling kit"), it should at least help them in their search so we can use their product.
