I bought this last year and it lasted maybe 2-3 months. The base and the top broke apart from each other. Aside from that the umbrella pole is too small for the opening on the stand and in order to get it to somewhat stay in place you have to screw it into the pole which leaves an unsightly mark. I would look elsewhere for not only a more aesthetically pleasing stand, but one that will properly display the umbrella
Trying to find a base for our 11' Sunbrella bought at Costco, we purchased this item from World Market online.
I purchased the 25lb in store. Reading online it was recommended this one for free standing. The umbrella does not stay in the stand. It is too wide and thus my 9ft umbrella moves around. There is a tightening device but it does not penetrate the umbrella. I'd love to return it but itis so heavy to cary around its not worth the effort.
i at first bought the 25 lb umbrella stand in the store...and put my world market umbrella in it...it leans over...and after a few days was useless....the tall piece that the umbrella goes in is made out of plastic and screws into the base and it breaks and will not hold an umbrella.. so then i ordered the 40lb thru mail order...thinking it might be stronger...not so...same thing...it is also cheaply made out of plastic and does the same thing...i am not a happy camper..over $100 wasted on worthless cheap product. 2 years ago i bought 2 umbrella stands from world market....they are still working and very strong...they were made out of metal...
The pole holder is too large, you cannot secure the pole and it therefore swivels around, I imagine it will eventually saw through the pole.
