Rated 5 out of 5 by PrincessPanda Great Industrial look shelves -Ordered two of these shelves during a great sale - Think they are a great value - They are huge - Wide and tall - Nice and sturdy, but you will need to adjust the feet and the make sure the bolts are nice and tight, also come with stabilizing brackets which help out too, but i didn't use. -Nice, cedar like smell (not sure if this is intentional) January 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Shammy Even better in person! I recently made a trip to my local world market because I was interested in turning a spare room into a TV lounge. We decided to go with an industrial look. At first, I placed the "Emerson" on hold, but after arriving in person, I saw that the Emerson shelves were unstable and left something to be desired. After seeing this shelving unit nearby, I was immediately in love! I bought 2 of the 4-shelf units and 1 of the 2-shelf units. I have since put the 4-shelf unit together and it is even better than I expected! There are a series of accents that are not shown in these photos that you must know about! First, there is a cross bar that forms an x along the back of the unit, followed by side bars that can be placed on the sides of the selves (which eliminates the need for book-ends, for example) or in the front along the corners. These tiny things take an already beautiful unit to a whole other level! I highly recommend this item if you are considering it. The shelves are deep and give you plenty of room for storage or display. August 31, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by LisaBTR Shelf is wider than advertised I ordered three shelves to fit my space. With one of them put together, I can see that all three will not fit. The width measurement on the website is not accurate. I am not tall enough to measure the top shelf, which is the widest point, but down lower the width is 40 inches. I expect that the top shelf is a full inch wider. Plan accordingly. Shelf assembly is a bit challenging. That said, the assembled shelf is sturdy and square, and I like the way it looks. The cross braces not pictured on the web site add both to the stability and the look. October 29, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by AlHof Looks Good, Packaged Incomplete I purchased 2 shelving systems:went to install them and found that of the 40 bolts instructions indicate it should have- one set had 22 and the other 23. It also needs 4 short screws, but each set came with 2. In addition 20 of the bolts are one type and 20 another but in the instructions and with the physical screws, they all look alike- hopefully they function alike. When I called the store hoping to stop by and pick them up - "oh we don't stock them" but we do steal them from other units(probably the last 2 guys were told that which resulted in my problem). Wouldn't you know it that they had the unit in the back but the bolts were missing. Go figure. They are now researching it. Not sure how this will end but it's enough trouble to put these together but to also have to mess with a scavenger hunt to do so is a bit over the top... January 19, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Lauren Dissapointed I usually love World Market products, so I had high expectations. I fell in love with this bookshelf online, and I was so excited to receive it -- Unfortunately, it is nothing like the description. First of all, the dimensions are completely different than what's listed on the website. I intended to put this in a specific place in my apt, therefore the measurements (particularly width) were carefully considered. It is nearly 5 inches wider and almost a foot taller than the dimensions listed online. It's huge! Secondly, the wood is much darker than pictured and is warped/curved on two shelves. Lastly, this is NOT a user-friendly assembly! As someone who enjoys building furniture, I have to say that this was ridiculously hard to assemble. The extremely heavy parts don't fit together well. This is not worth $300. Not even close. I now have to figure out how to return this mammoth piece of furniture...not how I wanted to spend my time. October 28, 2012
