This kettle is not only functional but also very stylish. Whether you have a modern or older home style, this kettle is a wonderful addtion to any kitchen. I am ALWAYS pleased with my purchases from World Market and my only regret is that there isn't one in my hometown area!

I've had this teakettle for well over a year and love it. We use it everyday, several times per day, to drink tea and fill our french press, which is also from world market (love it too!). This teakettle heats up fast (however, I never fill it to capacity!) and notifies me when it's ready with a sweet whistle. It's stainless steel so it doesn't show it's age and it shines just as it did when I first bought it.

This tea kettle is perfect! You can flip the whistle up so it doesn't disturb others in the early morning, or you can leave it down for notification.

I use this kettle probably 3-4 times a week and it serves its purpose. The plastic material parts don't get hot and it has a very loud whistle. My only issue with it is that the coating on the inside has chipped away. I have to check for loose flakes before each use so I don't end up with floaties.

I have been looking for a good stainless steel teakettle, and found the price on this one to be reasonable enough to justify trying it out. It looks nice with my black and stainless steel appliances in my kitchen. It is reasonably easy to fill, and the whistle is soft, not shrill like some other teapots.
Unfortunately for me, the capacity listed on the box is what it is capable of holding when filled up to the top, not what can be boiled safely. Up to the bottom of the spout, this teapot really only holds about 1.5 quarts. I need something that can safely boil at least 2 full quarts.
The other trouble is, it took over 20 minutes for the water to come to a boil over my gas range, using medium heat per the manufacturer instructions. (I timed it.) I don't expect a stovetop kettle to boil in five minutes or less like an electric one, but was hoping for something closer to 10 minutes, since I often need to make my tea in a hurry.
So, after I return it, this little kettle will do very well for someone who doesn't need more than 1.5 quarts of boiling water at a time, and who doesn't mind waiting 20 minutes or more for water to boil. My search continues...

While the kettle is certainly attractive, and it's good for boiling water, it doesn't whistle. If you depend on the whistle feature of a whistling tea kettle to alert you when the water's ready, you might want to forgo this one and opt for a more dependable product. Whatever you do, don't leave it unattended on the stove.

I bought it because it said the handle doesn't get hot. This turned out to be not true. I bought it because it was stainless steel, emphasis on the stainless. After having it for less than a week, it's already stained, and I can't get it clean. And, to top it off, it's now leaking from the seam where the handle's attached. I'd return it but I bought it when I was visiting Chicago. Argh!
