Tatara: Capturing the World in Flux
Hungarian-born artist Tatara grew up sketching his surroundings, which included rooftops, cobblestone paths and apartments. His keen exploration of his environment carries on in his work today, where cityscapes and other dynamic cultural settings remain the focus. Drawing parallels to American "plein air" artists who painted outdoors "in open air," his work illustrates the constant change of present-day civilization. Employing subdued color combinations, Tatara expresses mood and atmosphere unique to each moment he seeks to capture.
