Returning an Item

Where can I return my online purchase?

  • For regular items purchased online that are NOT designated as "Online Only", you may make a return (see guidelines here) at any of our World Market store locations, click here to find a store near you. Or, you can mail it to the address on your pack slip.
  • Online-Only items MUST be shipped to the Cost Plus World Market Returns Department prepaid and insured by the customer.
  • If the return is a result of a manufacturing defect or our shipping error, please contact World Market Customer Care immediately to arrange the return and we will refund all shipping expenses.

Returning by Mail

If you wish to return an item by mail, please follow the instructions below. Instructions are also included on the pack slip with your shipped items.

Standard Return Shipping

This method applies to most Furniture and Oversize items. It is used if a prepaid label was notincluded with your order or you would prefer to use your own shipping method:

  1. Pack the item(s) securely in the original product packaging, if possible. Please include all paperwork, parts, and accessories. All items must be returned in original condition, to ensure full credit.
  2. Complete the return reason questionnaire on the pack slip, and place it inside the package.
  3. Before sending your return shipment, please remove all extra labels from the outside of the package.
  4. Send the return package to the address on your pack slip.
    • All return shipping charges must be prepaid. We cannot accept C.O.D. deliveries.
    • It is recommended that packages are shipped through a traceable shipping method, such as UPS or Insured Parcel Post.
    • Keep the Return Tracking Number for your return package to monitor delivery status.
    • If the return is a result of a manufacturing defect or our shipping error, please contact World Market Customer Care immediately to arrange the return and we will refund all shipping expenses.
    • You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase, within 30 days of our receiving the returned order.
    • Credit for gift returns will be issued to the original purchaser.
    • You are able to track your return shipment through My Account.
    • Items purchased from a World Market retail store cannot be returned by mail to worldmarket.com.

Pre-Paid Return Shipping

For convenient return processing on some orders, your pack slip will include a pre-paid, pre-addressed label for your return package.

  1. Pack the item(s) securely in the original product packaging, if possible. Please include all paperwork, parts, and accessories. All items must be returned in original condition, to ensure full credit.
  2. Complete the return reason questionnaire on the pack slip, and place it inside the package.
  3. Affix the pre-paid label to the package. Before sending your return shipment, please remove all extra labels from the outside of the package.
  4. Send your package via US Mail by giving it to your postal carrier or dropping it at a local post office or US Mail drop point.
    • No postage is required. A fixed shipping rate of $6.50 will be deducted from your refund. You will not be charged postage until the return is processed.
    • You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for the purchase, within 30 days of our receiving the returned order.
    • Credit for gift returns will be issued to the original purchaser, minus the pre-paid return fee.
    • If the return is a result of a manufacturing defect or our shipping error, please contact World Market Customer Care immediately to arrange the return and we will refund all shipping expenses.
    • You are able to track your return shipment through My Account.
    • Please do not reproduce the pre-paid label in any way, to ensure proper credit processing.
    • Items purchased from a World Market retail store cannot be returned by mail to worldmarket.com.

Online Only Return Shipping

Online Only items cannot be returned to Cost Plus World Market store locations.

  1. Pack the item(s) securely in the original product packaging, if possible. Please include all paperwork, parts, and accessories. All items must be returned in original condition, to ensure full credit.
  2. Please fill out and include your pack slip
  3. Returns must be sent to the following address:

    • Returns must be shipped prepaid and insured.
    • If the return is a result of a manufacturing defect or our shipping error, please contact World Market Customer Care immediately to arrange the return and we will refund all shipping expenses.
    • Credit for gift returns will be issued to the original purchaser.

Returns to a World Market Retail Store

Steps for Returning In Store:

  • Find the nearest retail store by using our Store Locator.
  • Before visiting the store, place the item and all of its components securely in the original package.
  • Enclose the original pack slip with the item. Be sure to keep a copy of the pack slip for your records. (If you no longer have the pack slip, bring a copy of your Ship Confirmation email or your online purchase receipt displayed during Checkout.)
  • All items must be returned in original condition with all paperwork and accessories to ensure a full credit.
  • Take the item and pack slip to any World Market retail store. A store associate will process your return and issue you a credit to the original form of payment.

Please allow 30 days for the credit to appear on your billing statement.

Please Note:

  • If you choose to return your online purchase to one of our retail stores, you must present the original packing slip, Ship Confirmation email or your online purchase receipt displayed during Checkout.
  • Returns to a store after 60 days of purchase will be issued store credit.
  • Gift returns can be issued to the original purchaser or you may choose to be issued store credit.
  • Shipping Charges will only be refunded if the return is a result of a manufacturing defect or our shipping error.
  • Without a receipt of any kind, store credit will be issued at the lowest selling price within the past 90 days for merchandise returned in its original condition, with the exception of the departments listed below.
  • Store credit will NOT be issued without receipt for Bedding, Slip Covers, Window Coverings, Shower Curtains, Jewelry & Accessories, Framed Art or Knobs & Hooks.

Store Return Exceptions

  • Online-Only items cannot be returned to Cost Plus World Market store locations.
