How to Throw a Small Space New Year’s Eve Cocktail Party

With her festive spirits flying high and a newly-decorated studio apartment, blogger Gabrielle Savoie of Savvy Home felt ready to take on what seemed like an impossible feat just a few months ago: She threw a New Year’s Eve cocktail party in her 350-square-foot apartment.

She’s “learned a thing or two” from entertaining in her cozy space. Her main tips, after the jump!

How to Throw a Small Space New Year's Eve Cocktail Party - Discover, A World Market Blog

1. Keep it Simple

When you have a studio apartment, stick to the items that can be eaten while standing up: small bites, cheeses, crackers, olives, and nuts. No one likes carving a turkey with a plate on their knee.

2. Make it Cozy

Gabrielle recommends stocking up on fur throws and floor pillows to make everyone comfortable. She also states the obvious: make your bed, and make it well.

3. Use Serving Trays

They’re pretty, portable, and a lifesaver when it comes to serving nibbles and drinks.

4. Decorate with Florals

Freshly-cut flowers and bouquets make up for the fact that you don’t have a tree, or a mantel, or a collection of wreaths…

5. Have Plenty of Booze

It goes without saying, but never, ever run out of libations on New Year’s Eve! Stock up well before the party and try your best to have a signature cocktail mix for the night for a memorable evening.
