There are so many things that I love about fall. I love the apple cider and pumpkin spice everything. I love beautiful fall mums. I love the simplicity that decorative pumpkins bring to a front porch. I love that I can put on my thickest sweater and a pair of cozy boots and cuddle up with my kids next to a bonfire.
We have two doors in our house, which sits horizontal to the road, so people can see both our front and back door as they drive through our home. This weekend I wanted to spruce up my back porch and share with you my fun finds for a fall porch.
About a month ago, we started repainting the outside of our house. Our back porch was pea green before, and now, it’s bright gray wood with a white trim. Suffice to say that I’m in love! I just had to decorate this space to show off all the hard work we’ve done—and make the decor match our love for fall!
I pulled my white wicker chair outdoors from where it was in the sunroom and laid out plaid throws and a blanket I had on hand from winter last year. I also love these metal Nihal baskets, which is what originally inspired the entire back porch design.
At the local nursery and pumpkin patch, I picked up some pretty decorative pumpkins and a small bale of straw. I put a paint can inside the Nihal baskets and then set my mums on top of them—they fit perfectly! I seriously adore the look of mums and all the gorgeous colors they come in.
I bought a fresh, handmade Magnolia Wreath and hung it on the door. I am loving the combinations of live plants for this design and really wanted to capture all the colors that nature has to offer.
Don’t you just love the antique-looking baskets? They make the perfect vessel in which to hold the decorative cabbages.
I hope you enjoyed my fall porch tour!
