Our Gourmet Getaway Sweepstakes festivities continues as we celebrate la vita Italiana with ABC’s The Chew and five handpicked bloggers: Katie H., Rachael, Taylor, Katie J., and Melissa, who built on these awesome bloggers’ appetizers with a few of their own favorite pasta dishes.
Mangiare e festa!
When Katie of Mom Favorites pines for people watching in Rome’s many cafes, she makes a simple yet delectable dish, Cacio e Pepe, which means “cheese and pepper.” Her go-to pasta? Bella Italia pasta, which she says is the “best pasta [she’s] had stateside.” We love the simplicity of this five-ingredient dish, which is ready in minutes and made even better with fresh basil chiffonade.
Although this dish won’t show up in any fine dining Italian establishments, it’s still a five-star recipe for Rachael of La Fuji Mama. Risi e bisi is “reminiscent of a risotto, but a bit more soupy and not as rich.”
Taylor of Pink Heels Pink Truck can still remember the day when she first ate Wild Mushroom Risotto—it was love at first bite. Her recipe is rich, decadent and perfect for the colder months ahead.
One bite of this Pot Pasta with Park Ragu Sauce might just take your tastebuds direct to a small trattoria in Italy. A self-professed lover of the primo (pasta) course, Katie of Katie’s Cucina serves this pasta dish al dente and topped with freshly-grated parmesan cheese.
Melissa of The Happier Homemaker makes this nostalgic Creamy Pumpkin Pasta to remind herself of her time in Venice. Nutmeg, pumpkin, sage, and parmesan collide, creating a pasta dish that celebrates autumnal flavors.
