Why We Love It:
It’s rare to own something that gets better and better after each use (and some kitchen abuse)—and that’s exactly why we are so into our cast-iron cookware. Portioned just right and practically indestructible, our cast-iron skillets, bakers and other cookware make frying eggs and cooking up casseroles, lasagnas and macaroni and cheese easy to do—and transport directly from kitchen to table!
What You Need to Know About ‘Cleaning’ It:
Our cast-iron skillet, grill and oval dish come pre-seasoned, which means there’s a layer that protects it from rusting and gives the cast iron a nonstick surface. When it comes to soap for cleaning, save it for your other cookware, as soap can break up the tiny oil molecules that are embedded on the pan and make it not-so-nonstick.
To clean your cast-iron cookware, just hand wash, dry immediately after and rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash.
