Layer at the table. Christina from blog Christina’s Adventures gets creative with her use of tablecloths (yes, multiple tablecloths!), runners and table linens, and of course, chargers and plates. A well-layered table creates a lively impression and lets guests know that you put some thought and effort into the overall presentation. (Create your dining style here!)
Showcase greenery and foliage stylishly. Heather from blog Setting for Four brings faux succulents right to the table with these glass and metal geo terrariums. Succulents sprout from layers of black rocks, adding a rooted, earthy quality to an otherwise neutral table.
Add textures. The plates made her “swoon,” but the different textures at the table was what rounded-out this very fall-inspired table. The textures from her plate chargers, twine, leather, faux succulents, and table napkins reminded Linda from blog Craftaholics Anonymous that the season of pumpkins and falling foliage was just around the corner.
Play with pretty dinnerware. Sometimes, you have to give yourself permission to adorn your table with decor that makes you smile—simple as that! Blogger Kristi Murphy refreshed her dining table with “to-die-for” settings, pretty plates and paperie, and scents and sights that tickled the senses. The result is a picture-perfect dining space that isn’t at all fussy or too polished.
Let your favorite color guide you. For Alyson M, purple rules the roost. “[Purple] is soft, romantic and pleasing to the eye. And, I happen to think it looks great with our dark wood table and vintage, rustic chairs,” she says.
