I absolutely love the art of putting together a gift basket. Whether it’s for a birthday, Christmas gift or Easter basket, there is something special about putting thought into each little gift in the basket. Easter is quickly approaching, so I thought I’d share a few of my tips for putting together a visually appealing and thoughtful Easter basket.
PICK A THEME
Think about the person receiving the basket and pick a theme that suits his or her personality. Does she love sports, have a sweet tooth or a knack for decorating? Once you pick a theme, the next step is to decide on a color palette; this is what will take your baskets to the next level!

CHOOSE A VERSATILE BASKET OR VESSEL
When we think of Easter baskets, most of us think of a straw basket with a big round handle. My suggestion: Don’t be afraid to think outside of the basket and go with a holder that can be used year-round! How about trying a chicken wire basket, a beautiful crate or a decorative pedestal bowl?
GIRL EASTER BASKET IDEA: THE ASPIRING ARTIST
While shopping for the themed baskets, I found the cutest art sets that any aspiring artist would love!
When I fill my baskets, I always start by placing the largest item in the back corner. I gradually fill around the largest item by putting the smaller items in the front and filling in the holes and visual gaps. When packing the smock, I rolled it up nice and tight, and then tied a piece of jute around it for added measure. Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a difference!
BOY BASKET IDEA: THE SUPER HERO
With this super fun super hero basket, you can see how nicely the colors work together; it was easy to use a red and blue color palette with this basket.
HOSTESS BASKET IDEA: FOR THE DECOR ENTHUSIAST
Easter baskets aren’t just for kids—they can be for adults too! If you are headed to a friend or family member’s home for Easter brunch, make the hostess an Easter basket she will love; it’s an unexpected gesture that won’t go unnoticed. Also, don’t be afraid to take items out of the package, because these beautiful treasures often look even more beautiful inside the basket and unwrapped.
Everyone wants to know that they are loved. By simply adding a personalized gift tag, you can add so much sentiment and customization to a basket or gift. I picked up this pack of blank tags and then added glitter names and monograms for a shimmery and personalized touch.
