2 DIY Hostess Gifts

She’s opened up her home to you and a handful of her other nearest and dearest, and likely slaved away in the kitchen to prepare for the influx of hungry holiday guests. Why not try your hand at impressing the hostess with the mostess with a heartfelt, clever and super-simple gift of gratitude? Trust us—she’s going to love the gift and the packaging, and your efforts will likely get you invited back to the next big holiday shindig. (Yay, you!)

DIY #1: The Book Bundle

Step 1: Pick out a book that she’ll love and a versatile holiday scarf she’ll wear throughout the season.

Step 2: Lay out the scarf horizontally. Take the bottom of the scarf and fold it up 1/3 of the way. The fold should form a nice pocket in which to put the book.

Step 3: Fold the top part of the scarf down so that the book is completely covered. Twist the ends.

Step 4: Tie the ends together in a knot.

Step 5: After the knot is secure, use the two separate parts to tie a ribbon.

Step 3: From right to left, take the towel and wrap it over the bottle.

Step 4: Once the bottle is completely covered, secure the wrapping with a complementary ribbon or twine.
